Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell was TV personality and ex-chef of the Institute of Culinary Education and formerly teaches cooking. She's the host of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network presenter with her distinctive spiky blonde hair and a bubbly personality, reveals simple techniques to master and reduces intimidation of restaurants dishes on her TV show Secrets of a Restaurant. Chef Burrell also worked at the top New York restaurants, has been studying the Italian food and culture as well as was a contestant on Food Network's Iron Chef America. Burrell, who grew up living in New York State's Upstate, began to develop a passion for cooking. The Culinary Institute of America sparked her interest in restaurant management after she earned the English and Communications degree from Canisius College Buffalo NY. I was awed by every minute during my time of The Culinary Institute of America she states. I could not learn or do enough. After graduating, chef Burrell resided in Italy for a whole year studying at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Additionally, she worked at La Taverna del Lupo and La Bottega del 30 (a Michelin star restaurant) located in Tuscany. It was during this time that her experience in Italy allowed her to comprehend and appreciate the Italian tradition and philosophy, and this has left an impact on her own food and culinary experience. Burrell was the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board participant, with the goal of to improve the quality of life for children facing challenges. Burrell also serves as a Juvenile Disease Research Foundation celebrity ambassador and advocates awareness of the dangers of childhood diabetes. Burrell travels extensively across the United States in her position as a mentor as well as a public speaker in which she speaks about her work and passion for cooking. Anne has said throughout her culinary career that she feels so fortunate to be able communicate with people what is most important for her.
